Tarot cards are used for making tarot card readings. There are a few basic instructions that must be followed when making such readings. These instructions are listed below:
•    Before making a reading, a reader must ensure that the place where the reading has to be made is neat and clean. The reader must place all the necessary equipment like candles, crystal balls etc. before making the readings.
•    Before reading, the cards must be placed where the sun and the moon can renew the cards by clearing away the negative energies from the cards which might have stayed from the previous readings.
•    The reader must have a calm mind before he can make the tarot card readings. All the rituals that the tarot card reader thinks are essential must be performed before making the readings.
•    The reader must always clarify the question being asked so that he gets a clear understanding of what his client wants to ask and get an answer to.
•    Before reading or spreading the cards, the tarot card reader must shuffle them and cut the cards or ask the client to cut the cards.
•    Once the cards have been cut, the reader must spread them in a spread of his choice or a spread with which he is familiar.
•    After the reading is complete, the reader must thank the cards for their help.
